As long as there are believers
there is a deep, inner threat to every atheist...that there just might be a
God, and if there is a God, there just might be consequences for their thoughts
and actions, and there just might be a hell where they will spend eternity. As
long as we exist there is a threat to their inner peace. When their inner peace
is threatened it spews out of the mouth as insults, sarcasm, and cursing. A
Christian using God’s Word shines a light on the darkness that is in their
hearts. It sends them scurrying around like cockroaches trying to get out of
the light. They get into their dark corners and continuously try to convince
themselves that there is no God, that the Bible is archaic and not supernatural,
and that Christians are weak-willed. They read and believe what other men write…men
(and women) who are just as confused and fallible as they are, rather than
reading a Word that has stood the test of time, changed countless lives, and will
still be here when they are dead and gone.
Cockroaches love darkness and so
do non-believers. It is their nature, but God is offering them a new nature and
a future that will bring them out of the shadows and into the light. However,
that will never happen until they see the darkness that is within and realize
there is not one thing they can do to change it apart from the intervention of a
holy and righteous God.
I have no malice toward atheists
or agnostics. My own daughter, who I love dearly, is angry with God and
constantly blasphemes and blames Him for how her life has turned out, but she
will not take an honest look at the fact that her own actions and the actions
of others have brought her to this point. She left God out of her life, out of
her decision making, but now blames Him. How unfair is that? But, I lovingly,
keep trying to point her back to God…to help her realize that He loves her even
more than I do. He wants to give her a future and a hope, but she must be
willing to let go of the reins of her life and give them to God…and who is more
qualified to lead her life? A 24 year old who thinks she knows everything or a
God who does.
He does not want to harm the non-believer. He wants them to see
past their own feeble intellect and see that He has already given them all the answers
they will ever need for this life and that He will fill in the rest during
eternity. He wants them to find peace and rest in Him now. He wants them to
escape the wrath to come. He wants them to be with Him…forever.
God didn’t make
it confusing as to how to come to Him. He made ONE way…through Jesus Christ. He
stands now saying…“Come. Come to Me, ye that are heavy laden and “I” will give
you rest.” Don’t delay precious ones. Your time is running out!!
